History of the Institution

GVC college of Education is being run from the academic year 2007 – 2008. It is maintained and managed by GVC Educational Trust. Only B.Ed., Degree course is being conducted from the academic year 2007-2008. Most of the students from rural villages are being benefited in our Teacher Education Institution. Every year we achieve more than 91% of results in the B.Ed., Degree Examinations conducted by the TamilNadu Teachers Education University, Chennai – 97. Permanent Recognition granted to our Institution for Teacher Education. All the facilities according to the 2014 Act of NCTE have been provided in the Institution. The welfare of the students is the important aim of our institution.

Our Vision statement

i. The main objective of our college is to prepare effective teachers for Secondary level through imparting required knowledge and development of teaching skills.

ii. It is the primary aim of our college to prepare teachers not only to give education and knowledge to the students but also to set moral values that are imbibed by the students.

iii. Our college is interested to prepare the teachers to develop the qualities of Equality, Fraternity and Integrity among the students.

Our Mission

Our mission is to impart Teachers Education to the male and female graduates residing in remote rural villages. It will help to increase the number of literates among the people living in villages. Our mission is to give importance to women’s education in rural villages.

Achievements

Mrs. S. Kalaimagal student teacher of the academic year 2008 – 2009 stood State First in the subject Educational Innovations and Management. She scored 97 marks out of 100. During the academic year 2007-2007 we achieved 100% of result in B.Ed., Degree examinations.

Contributions in the field of Education

Every year we conduct Citizenship Training Camps and awareness programmes to develop importance of Education and Health and Hygiene among the people living in rural villages.

Awards and Recognition Received

Mrs. S. Kalaimagal student teacher of the academic year 2008 -2009 was awarded Medal by the Chancellor of TamilNadu Teahcers Education University for achieving State Rank in the B.Ed., Degree Examination.
